pre production
For my scene that I will be shooting I have planned and thought out what equipment I need and what to do in order to make a great film scene. Louis will be helping me film this scene, he's a classmate at the College. Him and I will be using script 1 for our project. There are three scripts in total and we had to pick one to use. Script 1 is about a student who enters their house and starts a conversation with their friend on the phone. Then they freak out after seeing a mysterious figure in their back garden through the window. The student looks again through the window and the figure is no longer there. Finally the scene ends with the door bell being rung and the teacher panicky opening it to see their friend. To make this figure more mysterious and threatening we are going to make the figure hooded, disguised adding a sense of mysteriousness to the character.
Location:
The location me and Louis will be filming the scene will be at my house. I chose this location because it's easy to plan and set up as well as travelling the equipment from the college to the set. It's about a 15 min walk from College. My house has a lot of room at the front and not so much in the back garden so we will be placing the mysterious figure there. Because of this slight change we will be using the backdoor as the front door in the scene. Louis and I figured this would make the figure be more visible and open. We don't want too many objects in the way as in the script it almost makes the figure wanting to be seen and purposely trying to be visible to the student. I get this impression as he's described to be just standing there frozen behind some trees facing the student. There isn't any trees in the way so instead we will place our figure behind a car to hide him a bit. The front of the house is just so much ideal and easier to work with, as it is much bigger than the back. We will be filming here on the 7th and 11th of March. These days are when we are both free to do stuff so this will be the filming schedule for us.
The equipment Louis and I will be using:
- Nikon camera
- boom stick
- shotgun mic
- tripod
The camera and tripod are already owned pieces of equipment I have so the only things I need are the shotgun mic and boom stick. These two will need to be borrowed from the College. These two will be crucial in getting a great audio experience to go with the visuals. Louis will be operating the sound equipment while I take turns being the actor and camera man. The tripod will help me when panning the camera, stopping it from wobbling.

Pitch:
The pitch is what me and Louis used to explain what script we were going to be filming as well as how. Including what kind of equipment we needed from the college and the location we chose. Covering all the technicalities and the story board for the different shots in the scene.
