Audio quality

Audio quality is crucial when filming a scene. It's important to get the best high quality audio for your video. For when I film my film scene later in this project I won't be using the camera mic to record my audio. Instead I will use a shotgun mic. Otherwise if you use a camera microphone you get audio like this. Two of my class mates filmed this scene using both the camera mic and the goose neck mics.

Compare that to using any high quality mic you get a much better experience in your video. You may notice a massive change in audio. The mics used in this scene are called 'goose necks'. They're often used in news reports and are pretty good high quality mics. Downside is that they aren't portable, you can't walking around while using these mics. You may notice a lot of podcasts also use these if you've seen any.

When adding the separate recording in to Adobe Premiere pro I used the synchronise tool to match the different audio track to the video. I did this by selecting the video and audio, right clicking and scrolling down until I saw the synchronise tool.

I also used this tool for my Brooklyn 99 scene so it has been a very important tool to use so far. I've mostly used this for the purpose of synchronising my separate audio recordings with my visuals. This is something that I will be using in my final project. Since I will probably be recording my film festival project on a separate device from the camera I will have different files to edit. The synchronise function will allow me to perfectly connect the visuals and sound. This is incredibly useful for dialogue as it would be a struggle to try and time the audio with an actors mouth moving.
